Training & work

Skills the new
economy runs on.

Hands-on vocational training for the trades that build and keep the modern economy running, taught from the ground up, with a job at the end of it as the goal.

Work and recovery

Work is medicine
of a different kind.

Ask anyone who has rebuilt a life what turned it: a lot of them will tell you about a job. Not just the paycheck. The feeling of being useful again.

Work gives recovery a structure, a purpose and a growing sense of self-worth. It replaces shame with competence, and idle time with something to finish. That is why training is not a side offering at Hard Won. It is a core part of the plan.

Skills the new economy runs on

Training for the jobs
the new economy is hiring for.

The new economy still runs on people who build things. Data centers, power grids, advanced manufacturing, steel and the factories coming back to the region all need skilled hands to build, wire, run and maintain them. We train for those jobs: steady, well-paid work that technology creates and can't do without.

Data centers need to be wired, powered and cooled. Power grids need to be built out. Advanced manufacturing and automation need people who can install, run and maintain the machines. These are durable, well-paid, hands-on trades, and Hard Won will train for them.

How training will work

Start where you are.
Build from there.

Many of the people we will serve have never had a real chance at a skilled trade, and some have little experience with technology at all. Our pathways are designed for that reality.

Fundamentals first

Safety, tools, measurement, reading a plan and showing up on time. No prior experience assumed. No one is left behind in week one.

Learn by doing

Shop and site-based instruction, not lectures. People will learn a trade with their hands. Instructors will be people who have worked in the trade.

Modern trades, plain teaching

The equipment is modern. The teaching is patient and practical. You do not need to understand the technology to help build the world that runs on it.

A real next step

Credentials where they matter, introductions to employers who want to hire, and help with the practical side of starting a job: transportation, schedules, paperwork.

Employers & training providers

Help shape
the pathway.

The best training is built with the people who will do the hiring. We are recruiting employer and training partners.

If you hire in the trades, we'll train people to your standard and stay involved after day one. Our participants will come with structure, accountability and something to prove.

What to expect

Clear information.
No shortcuts.

Which trades will be offered?
Pathways are being finalized with the training and employer partners we are recruiting. Expect a focus on electrical, construction, mechanical and infrastructure trades tied to data centers, power and advanced manufacturing. Specific courses, dates and requirements will be published before enrollment opens.
Do I need computer skills?
No. The work is hands-on and the training starts at the beginning. Any technology used on the job is taught as part of the job.
Does training guarantee a job?
No one can promise that honestly. What we can promise is a credible path: real skills, real credentials where they apply and introductions to employers who are looking.
Can I train without living in the Hard Won home?
That is the plan. Housing and training are designed to work together, but training will also be open to people who have a stable place to live elsewhere.
